Higher reaches of Uttarakhand and many other parts of north Indian on Tuesday experienced light rainfall and snowfall.
Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, was lashed by intermittent rainfall since morning. However, there was no considerable fall in temperatures in the state despite reports of snowfall in the higher reaches.
IMD said light to moderate rain/snowfall (at places with the elevation of 4200 meter and above) / thunderstorm likely to occur at a few places in all districts of Uttarakhand on Wednesday.
Yellow alert:
Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning / gusty winds(30-40kmph) is likely to occur at isolated places over Almora, Nainital, Champawat, Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar and US Nagar districts of Uttarakhand on Wednesday.
Under the influence of a Western Disturbance, scattered/fairly widely spread light to moderate rainfall/snowfall is likely over Western Himalayan Region and light rainfall over adjoining plains of northwest India till 10th October, IMD said.
