Taipei’s Lin Chun-Yi defeated Indian ace shuttler Lakshya Sen 21-15, 22-20 to win the All England Open Men’s badminton championship 2026 in Birmingham on Sunday.
Sen lost despite giving a tough fight in the final in 57 minutes.
In the first set, Sen didn’t hit any smashes and remained defensive. He made lots of unforced errors in the first set and lost easily. Sen lost the set 15-20.
However, Sen looked very aggressive in the second set right from the beginning as he took considerable lead. But after the half game, Lin started narrowing lead and a seesaw game began. In the end, Lin kept the momentum and hit some wonderful shots to take the second set 22-20.
This was the second appearance in the All England final for the 24 year old from Almora shuttler having finished runner up in the 2022 edition.
