Dehradun: Ravi Tamta, a young innovator from Almora district in Uttarakhand has successfully conducted the test flight of his drone-car, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced on Friday.
Interestingly, Tamta himself piloted his flying car in the test flight in Almora ground. He claimed that this is the first flying car of India which can cover a 1.5 hour long road journey in 12 minutes. However, he didn’t elaborate more on his new flying car and its safety aspects.
Praising the achievement, CM Dhami said that innovations by young talents from the state reflect Uttarakhand’s growing potential in the field of technology and entrepreneurship. He extended his best wishes to Tamta for his future endeavours and expressed hope that such innovations would contribute to the advancement of drone technology.
The successful flight trial of the HAPIDA SKYNEX prototype marks a significant step towards encouraging indigenous technological solutions and highlights the growing interest among Uttarakhand’s youth in emerging sectors like drone technology, the CM said.
The Chief Minister has been consistently emphasising the promotion of innovation, startups and skill-based opportunities for young people in the state, particularly in areas where technology can support sectors such as disaster management, agriculture, surveillance and infrastructure development.
