Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday said a comprehensive and intensive campaign would be launched to resolve land-related disputes within one month timeframe in the hill state.

The Chief Minister issued these instructions to Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan and Director General of Police (DGP) Deepam Seth, stating that a comprehensive and intensive campaign should be launched in all districts to resolve pending land disputes, and that all disputed cases should be settled within a one-month timeframe.

He clarified that the aim is to bring the number of pending land dispute cases down to zero by the end of this campaign.

The Chief Minister said that land disputes are directly linked to the problems of common citizens and also have an adverse impact on law and order and social harmony. Therefore, it is the government’s priority to resolve such disputes quickly, transparently, and justly.

He instructed the officials to pay special attention to sensitive cases during the campaign and to avoid any kind of negligence.

The Chief Minister asked the Chief Secretary to review the progress of this campaign every week to ensure that the targets are achieved within the stipulated time frame and that corrective measures can be taken as needed based on the review.

He also said that committees should be formed at the tehsil level, headed by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), with the concerned Circle Officer (CO) of the police and officials from the consolidation department as members, to ensure effective resolution of disputes through administrative, revenue, and police coordination.

Chief Minister Dhami expressed confidence that this special campaign will lead to the speedy resolution of land disputes, provide relief to the general public, and further strengthen their trust in the government and administration.
