The lingering Iran war has finally started casting a shadow in India with the hefty price hike of domestic gas cylinders.
The prices of both domestic as well as commercial LPG cylinders have been hiked with effect from Saturday (March 7) in view of the Iran war. A 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder will now cost Rs 60 more across the nation. Similarly, the price of a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder will be up by Rs 115.
According to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) website, non-subsidized LPG will now be priced Rs 913 per 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi as against Rs 853 previously. This is the second increase in prices in less than a year.
“We are selling all our gas cylinders by adding the Rs 60 hike from today,” said Guruddin, a delivery boy of Arvind Bharat Gas Agency in Racecourse area of Dehradun.
“We knew that prices of essential commodities will rise. After gas, prices of petrol and diesel will also rise,” said Sunita Devi, who works as a domestic help in Dehradun.
