Cow slaughter activity: Two injured in encounter

Two persons, who were allegedly involved in cow slaughter activities, were injured in a shootout with the police at Harbhajwala tea estate area in Dehradun early on Monday, police said.

The incident occurred when the two persons tried to flee a check-post after being asked to stop there. As the police started chasing the two persons, the duo fired on the policemen. In the ensuing encounter, both the two persons were injured as they received bullet injuries on hand and foot.

The injured persons were rushed to nearby hospital for medical care. Police said the duo was allegedly involved in cow slaughter activities in Saharanpur area of Uttar Pradesh.

A criminal case has also been filed against the two persons for firing on policemen also besides other criminal charges.
