Engineering student drowns in Ganga

An engineering college student was drowned in the river Ganga at Lakshman Jhula area near rishikesh in Uttarakhand on Sunday, police said.

Vaibhav Sharma (20) who hails from Barot area of Uttar Pradesh died after accidently slipping into the river. Sharma has come to Rishikesh along with his three other classmates from Ghaziabad’s ABES College for outing.

A deep diving team of SDRF began search operation and found his body in the river. Later, the SDRF handed over the body to the police for postmortem.
