SIDCUL is developing low-cost flatted factories in Rudrapur, Selaqui, and Haridwar to enable MSME entrepreneurs to set up their businesses on a plug-and-play model, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Thursday.

Speaking at a function of the PHDCCI in New Delhi, the Chief Minister said “while we have established Aroma Park in Kashipur, Plastic Park in Sitarganj, Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Kashipur, and Multimodal Logistics Park in Pantnagar, we are also working towards developing a smart industrial township on over 1000 acres of land at Kichha Farm in Udhamsingh Nagar district. The cost of development of this smart industrial town near Rudrapur is expected to be Rs 1200 crore.

“Additionally, we are developing a rent-based accommodation facility to provide comfortable housing to those working in the industrial sector,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the House of Himalayas Brand is proving effective in bringing all the state’s organic products under one umbrella. Under this initiative, efforts are being made to gain global recognition by GI-tagging various products from the state.

Products manufactured by the state’s women self-help groups are gaining global recognition. “Our government is striving to realize the concept of minimum government, maximum governance in the state. We have benefited more than 10,000 new entrepreneurs in the state through the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme. Today, we offer more than 260 business services completely online. This eliminates the need for entrepreneurs to visit various departments and ensures both transparency and speed in the system,” the CM said.

Highlights of CM’s speech:

  • Investment agreements worth ₹3.56 lakh crore signed in Uttarakhand, work underway on proposals worth ₹1 lakh crore.
  • Chief Minister said, “A single window system for industries in the state, with over 30 policies to accelerate investment.”
  • New industrial parks and townships developed in Kashipur, Sitarganj, Pantnagar, and Rudrapur in Uttarakhand.
  • Uttarakhand is an achiever in ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and a leader in ‘Startup Rankings’.
  • Government’s goal: To make Uttarakhand the country’s leading ‘investment-friendly state’.
  • “U-Hub and a ₹200 crore venture fund in Uttarakhand will give startups a new boost,” said CM.
  • Work is progressing rapidly towards a 1,000-acre smart industrial township in Kichha.
