The body of a 12-year-old boy was recovered from a river on Friday after he was believed to have been devoured by a crocodile at Roorkee area in Haridwar district, police said.

Raja had gone missing on Thursday. Later his cycle was found near the Chila river in the area.

Soon a search operation was launched in the river where Raja’s body was found. A  crocodile was also found near the body raising suspicion that the boy might have been devoured by the reptile.

Later police sent the body for post-mortem.
