The Uttarakhand government is constructing an alternate trek for pilgrims visiting Kedarnath shrine in Uttarakhand from Bhimbali to Garud Chatti.
Rudraprayag District Magistrate Vishal Mishra on Tuesday reviewed the progress of works being carried out under the Kedarnath Master Plan and the construction of the alternate trek from Bhimbali to Garud Chatti.
Chairing the meeting, the District Magistrate directed officials to expedite the handover process of buildings constructed under the Master Plan. He asked all departments concerned to complete the required formalities in a time-bound manner and ensure better coordination so that the newly created assets can be utilized effectively for public welfare and strengthening pilgrimage management.
Mishra also stressed the need to develop all essential facilities for pilgrims along the new trek route between Bhimbali and Garud Chatti. He instructed officials to prepare and submit estimates for the required infrastructure within a week to facilitate speedy execution of the works.
The meeting included a detailed review of ongoing construction activities and preparedness measures aimed at improving facilities for devotees visiting the Himalayan shrine.
Among those present were Additional District Magistrate Shyam Singh Rana, Ukhimath SDM Anil Rawat, Rudraprayag SDM Sohan Singh Saini, Chief Medical Officer Dr Ram Prakash, District Tourism Officer Rahul Chaube, DDMA Executive Engineer Rajvinder Singh and District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar, along with other departmental officials.
