Two tremors measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale rocked Jammu and Kashmir early on Tuesday creating panic in some areas.

The people in some residential areas in Kashmir came out of their houses as the windows and fans shook. The two earthquakes struck at around 0645 hours and 0652 hours.

However, there is no report of any loss of life or property so far.

The epicenter of the quake was in Baramula area in Kashmir Valley.

According to US Geological Survey, magnitude of the two tremors was 5.1.
