Abhinav Kumar is new DGP

Abhinav Kumar, IPS officer of 1996 batch, on Wednesday was appointed as officiating DGP of Uttarakhand.

Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Home Radha Raturi issued orders to this effect, official sources said.

Kumar will replace Ashok Kumar who will be retiring on Thursday after 34 years of meritorious service.

Kumar is presently serving as ADGP and considered as very close to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Kumar

is also serving as Principal Secretary to the CM. Ends
