People in large number observed fast and visited temples which were tastefully decorated with lights and flowers.
The main function was held at the Krishna Janambhoomi temple in Mathura where Chief Minister Yogi also participated. A large number of people also visited the neighbouring Vrindavana and Dwarka in Gujarat to hold prayers. Various other top temples like Jaganath in Odisha, Guruvayur in Kerala and Parthasarthi in Tamil Nadu were also buzzing as prayers and sanatan rituals were observed by devotees.
In Mumbai, the dahi handi events at various places in the financial capital remained the main attractions.
CM Yogi highlighted his government’s initiatives to re-establish Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, Gokul, Baldev, Govardhan, and Radha Kund as major pilgrimage centres. He cited the Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor and the Ram Temple in Ayodhya as examples of how Uttar Pradesh is setting a new paradigm of spiritual heritage and modern development.

Famous quotes:
When I read the Bhagavad Gita and reflect about how God created this universe everything else seems so superfluous.’
-Albert Einstein
‘When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare me in the face, and I see not one ray of hope on the horizon, I turn to Bhagavad Gita and find a verse to comfort me; and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming sorrow. Those who meditate on the Gita will derive fresh joy and new meanings from it every day.’
-Mahatma Gandhi
