Godan, the first-ever film based on the sacred cow, was declared tax-free in Uttarakhand, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh, officials said on Saturday.
Other BJP-ruled states like Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are also contemplating a move to declare the movie tax-free.
The movie which was released in cinemas on Friday, is completely dedicated to cow and presents her significance through the lens of Indian culture, Sanatan Dharma, and science.
The film conveys that staying connected to one’s roots brings inner satisfaction and spiritual fulfillment. To make the story more impactful and realistic, several true incidents have also been included. ‘Godan’ not only entertains but also delivers a strong social and spiritual message, said film critics.
