Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the six-lane Kumar Bhaskar Varma bridge over the river Brahmaputra in Assam.
The Rs 3030 crore Extradosed Prestressed Concrete (PSC) bridge will seamlessly connect Guwahati with North Guwahati, reducing travel time to just 7 minutes while strengthening regional mobility, trade, and economic activity, Union Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said.
The project will also enhance pilgrimage access to the revered Maa Kamakhya Temple, marking a transformative boost to connectivity and development.
