Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi will be the first woman Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand, the sources said on Tuesday.

Raturi, an IAS officer of 1988 batch, will replace the incumbent S S Sandhu, who is retiring tomorrow after getting six months extension.

Raturi has held many important portfolios including home and CM office in the state. She was also District Magistrate of Tehri and Dehradun.

Significantly, Raturi’s husband Anil Raturi was the DGP of the hill state. He retired few years ago.

This is for the first time in Uttarakhand, may be in India also, that a husband and wife couple held two top posts of the police and civil services.
