An investiture ceremony of the prestigious St. Joseph’s Academy (SJA), Dehradun, was held on Thursday in the school premises, marking a significant step for the young leaders to formally assume their responsibilities with dignity and commitment.

Abhinav Kumar, Director General Intelligence & Security and Prison Administration, was chief guest at the investiture ceremony of the middle and senior school.

The programme commenced with a serene prayer, invoking divine blessings for the newly elected council members. Kumar, an IPS officer, was formally introduced to the gathering. Kumar is a distinguished officer of the 1996 batch with nearly three decades of exemplary service in law enforcement and governance. It was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a graceful Welcome Dance, setting a celebratory tone for the event.

The Middle School Investiture Ceremony witnessed a deeply proud and emotional moment as parents stepped forward to pin badges on their children, symbolising not only the conferment of responsibility but also the invaluable partnership between family and school in nurturing conscientious and capable leaders from classes VII and VIII. This gesture beautifully underscored the role of parental guidance in shaping character and instilling values.

The highlight of the ceremony was the Senior School Investiture, where badges were conferred upon the council members by the Chief Guest along with the parents. The atmosphere was filled with pride as students of Classes XI and XII took the oath, pledging sincerity, dedication, and integrity in discharging their duties. The programme was further enriched by performances from the Torrins Band Vocalists and an engaging dance performance, adding vibrancy to the event.

In his address, the Chief Guest Kumar inspired the students with his words, emphasizing discipline, leadership, and service to society. Drawing from his vast experience, he encouraged the young leaders to lead with courage and integrity.

The ceremony also included the felicitation of the Chief Guest, followed by the Address by Principal Brother Joseph M. Joseph who congratulated the newly elected council and reminded them that leadership is rooted in responsibility and humility. He also spread awareness amongst children regarding social media, cyber-bullying and AI misuse.

The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by the Head Boy, Anubhav Sajwan and the Head Girl Vaishnavi Gupta, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and participants. The gathering then stood united for the School Song and the National Anthem, bringing the ceremony to a dignified close.
