Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central University will host the two-day All India Education Conference-2026 on July 31 and August 1 to deliberate on the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 and promotion of the Indian knowledge tradition.
The conference is being organised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and the university has constituted an organising committee to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
As part of the conference, an exhibition on the theme “Inclusion of Indian Knowledge Tradition and Indian Languages in Education under the National Education Policy-2020” will be inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shriprakash Singh on July 31 at the Himalayan Archaeology and Ethnography Museum on the university’s Chauras campus.
University Dean of Academics and NEP Coordinator Prof. Prashant Kandari on Wednesday reviewed preparations for the conference at a meeting of the organising committee. He said the exhibition is open to the public and has invited teachers, researchers, students, educationists and other stakeholders associated with NEP to participate.
Prof. Kandari said the conference aims to create greater awareness about the key provisions of NEP-2020, promote Indian knowledge systems and Indian languages, and facilitate meaningful dialogue among academicians, students and the wider community on the future of education in India.
