A passenger of the ill-fated Air India flight which crashed in Ahmedabad on Thursday miraculously survived with injuries, media reports said.

The video footages showed Ramesh Vishwas Kumar (38), who was among 242 people on board the flight AI171 virtually rising from the ashes as he walked towards the ambulance which took him to a hospital.

“The plane had exploded,” Kumar, a British national, said in Gujarati before he was rushed to the hospital where his condition is stated to be stable. He has received multiple injuries on his bodies like chest, face and legs.

Kumar’s seat 11A was located near the emergency door of the Dreamliner Boeing 787 aircraft.

The Air India flight bound for London Gatwick crashed moments after the take-off from Ahmedabad before crashing into a hostel building of B J Medical College and Hospital.
