In a show of strength, hundreds of Congress workers on Wednesday participated in the Save Constitution Rally organized by the State Congress in Dehradun.

Most of the top Congress leaders came together to pep up the party workers with state Congress President Karan Mahara, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, former state party Presidents Pritam Singh and Ganesh Godiyal and former Minister  Harak Singh Rawat sharing the stage to send a message of unity.

Congress General Secretary and former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot was the chief guest in today’s rally.

Addressing the rally, Pilot said Congress party has strongly fought against terrorism and also suffered the maximum loss in terrorist attacks. “We have lost two Prime Ministers, leaders like Sardar Beant Singh but we have never bowed down to terrorism and will never bow down,” said Pilot while addressing the Rally at Rangers College Ground in the state capital Dehradun.

Accusing the Modi Government of failing to tackle terrorism, he said slammed the central government for its failure in the intelligence system. Pilot said that Congress was standing with the government in this hour of crisis and party leader Rahul Gandhi has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately convene a special session of Parliament on the Pahalgam terror attack.

Pilot, accused the BJP of spreading an atmosphere of hatred in the country. Inflation is skyrocketing and unemployment is constantly increasing but the government has found an easy way to answer these questions, spread hatred and get rid of these issues, he said.

State Congress President Karan Mahara fiercely attacked the BJP governments at the Center and the state and called upon the Congress workers to overthrow the BJP government in the state. He said that the state BJP president himself is admitting that illegal mining is going on in the state.

Harish Rawat said he being the oldest soldier of Congress is ready to stand with the state Congress to fight against the government. He said the BJP government has failed to remove the pain and suffering of the people.
