An Executive Engineer who issued an outlandish order on invoking god by offering rice to find a missing service book has been transferred from Champawat district in Uttarakhand, official sources said on Sunday.
Ashutosh Kumar, who was working in the National Highway Section of the state Public Works Department (PWD) in Lohaghat area of Champawat district, on Friday issued the strange order to seek help of god to find the missing service book of an employee. The order copy of the engineer went viral.
The sources said Kumar has been transferred from Champawat district with immediate effect.
In the order issued by Kumar, all the officers and employees working in the section were asked to bring two fistfuls of rice with them from their homes, which he said in the order, can be offered in a local temple for invoking god to find the missing service book.
In the order, Kumar said the service book of Additional Assistant Engineer Jai Prakash working in the PWD had gone missing from a cupboard of the office and despite lot of efforts, it was not traceable. He said Jai Prakash become mentally upset in this regard. For helping Prakash, the Executive Engineer came with a funny suggestion of rice offering at a temple in order to find the missing service book.
