One arrested, police unearths Nitin Dev murder mystery

The Uttarakhand police on Saturday claimed to have solved a deep murder conspiracy where Nitin Dev, the owner of Deccan Valley Society, Hide Out Cafe and Jeevan Utsav Resort in Tapovan area of ​​Tehri district was shot dead by unidentified assailants on May 7.

The main accused Bimalesh alias Vikas has been arrested from Bihar, top police officials said.

In view of the seriousness of the crime, SSP Tehri Ayush Aggarwal had immediately ordered multi-dimensional investigations which began zeroing in on technical analysis, field investigation, CCTV footage, surveillance, and checking records of criminal background.

Six special investigating teams were formed and raids were conducted in different states, the police officials said.

During the course of investigations, some shocking facts came to light. It was revealed that the conspiracy of a well-planned murder of Nitin Dev was hatched from Suddhowala jail in Dehradun. It all began when Nitin Dev strongly gave evidence against Vipin Nayyar in a rape case due to which the former went to jail. When Vipin landed in jail, he decided to take revenge.

In jail, Vipin met notorious criminal Ramveer Singh, who helped in hiring contract killer Bimalesh alias Vikas of Bihar.

After being released on bail from jail, Vipin Nayyar once again met Bimalesh several times in Delhi and Rishikesh to finalize the murder conspiracy and two shooters were kept in a flat in Deccan Valley on fake IDs. The shooters did recce of the deceased’s activities for several days and finally carried out the murder.

During the continuous and intensive investigations conducted by Tehri Police, accused Bimalesh alias Vikas was arrested from Bihar on May 16 through mobile surveillance, banking transactions and field information collection.

During interrogation, he confirmed the murder conspiracy, contract killing connection and involvement of other accused.

For this excellent disclosure made by Tehri district police in a short time, Director General of Police (DGP) Uttarakhand Deepam Seth announced a cash reward of ₹ 50,000 to encourage the police team. Along with this, instructions have also been given to SSP Tehri to arrest the absconding shooters and other involved in the crime.
