2027 assembly polls: UK Cong leaders hold brainstorming with Rahul Gandhi

The Congress high command on Thursday convened a meeting of top leaders of the Uttarakhand unit in New Delhi for brainstorming ahead of the 2027 assembly elections in the hill state.

“An important meeting was held today at the AICC headquarters, Indira Bhawan, New Delhi. All India Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha  Rahul Gandhi and Party Organization General Secretary (in-charge) K C Venugopal were present. In the meeting, there was a brainstorming on the strategy for the 2027 assembly elections,” said a statement issued by the Uttarakhand Congress.

Gandhi called for a “collective and disciplined” strategy and made it clear that it is mandatory for everyone to follow the instructions issued by the high command through the state in-charge with full devotion.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the party has to stand with every deprived, exploited and backward class of the state. The role of Congress should be decisive in their every fight and need, on which no compromise can be made. The Congress Party has always stood strongly with the poor and weaker sections, he said.

State Congress President Karan Mahara and Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya invited Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge to visit Uttarakhand, on which the two leaders gave a positive response. He said all the state leaders are united and working in a disciplined way for all the future plans.

On this occasion, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, former State President Pritam Singh,  Ganesh Godiyal and other senior leaders also shared their views with the high command. All the leaders took a pledge in one voice that they will take the voice of the Congress to the people.

State in-charge Kumari Selja, CWC member Gurdeep Singh Sappal, co-in-charge Surendra Sharma and Pargat Singh, Lok Sabha candidates Pradeep Tamta and Prakash Joshi, National Secretary Qazi Nizamuddin, Deputy Leader of the Opposition Bhuwan Kapri, former Cabinet Minister Harak Singh Rawat, MLAs Mamta Rakesh, Tilak Raj Behad, Ravi Bahadur, former Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal, former cabinet minister Navprabhat and presidents of Congress frontal organisations Jyoti Rautela, Hema Purohit, Sumittar Bhullar, Vikas Negi and Madan Lal were present in the meeting.
