Road sweeping machines to clean Dehradun

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday flagged off a vacuum-based road sweeping machine operated by the Dehradun Municipal Corporation (DMC) of Dehradun at his Camp Office premises.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister commended the DMC for its efforts towards making Dehradun a clean and modern city and stated that this smart technology-based initiative will help in achieving the objectives of the National Clean Air Programme.

The Chief Minister stated that the sanitation system is being strengthened through technology to make Dehradun clean and pollution-free.

The advanced machines added to the Municipal Corporation’s fleet will make regular road cleaning more effective and faster. They will also reduce dust and pollution levels, providing a clean environment for the public. The Chief Minister urged the Municipal Corporation and related departments to conduct these activities more effectively to keep Dehradun clean, beautiful, and green.

Mayor Dehradun Saurabh Thapliyal, Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal, and other Municipal Corporation officials were present on the occasion.

DMC has bought two German-manufactured advanced road sweeping machines at a cost of ₹6.75 crore, media reports said.
