Beware! 3 delivery boys arrested in Doon

Three delivery boys working with the commerce company Blinkit have been arrested in Dehradun in two different crimes during the past 24 hours, police said on Tuesday.

In first incident, Dehradun police arrested three suspected drug traffickers, including two delivery boys of Blinkit for allegedly smuggling drugs under the guise of household goods.

Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajai Singh said here 31.94 grams of smack and 158 grams of hashish were recovered from the accused. The recovered smack is estimated to be worth approximately Rs 9 lakh.

He said that the accused were arrested with the drugs during checking at different places in the Raiwala area on Monday night.

The SSP stated that a case has been registered against the three accused under the NDPS Act at the Raiwala police station.

In yet another incident, a delivery boy working with Blinkit was arrested on the charge of stealing garlands studded with currency notes from a shop in Dharampur area. The delivery boy has been identified as Rahul Nautiyal, a resident of Chinyalisaur area of Uttarkashi district.

Seventy-one garlands of 10 and 20 currency notes were recovered from the possession of Nautiyal.

  1. It’s a serious situation. Drug trafficking is on rise in Uttrakhand especially in Dehradun. There main target is school going students. They want that since childhood they start consuming Drugs and become their permanent customers. We don’t want Uttrakhand become next Punjab. Strict measures and vigilance are required.
