A symposium was held on Wednesday at Soban Singh Jeena University, Almora where speakers lauded the achievements of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
The symposium was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof Satpal Singh Bisht and attended by experts, academicians, social workers, entrepreneurs, and intellectuals from various fields.
This was the first of its kind symposium held in a government university in Uttarakhand to discuss the achievements of a Chief Minister. The program also saw the release of the books “Nayak Se Jananayak” and “Dhami Ki Dhamak,” written by the Chief Minister’s media coordinator, Madan Mohan Sati.
Sati said Dhami’s tenure of more than four years has been unparalleled, with decisions taken in the state’s best interests being unprecedented.
Presiding over the program, Prof Bisht said CM Dhami is a skilled leader and is working to unite the entire state. “The past four years of his tenure have been truly remarkable, with the state achieving many milestones. These achievements have made our small state known as a state that makes big decisions,” Prof Bisht said.
The purpose of this seminar, held in the auditorium of the Mathematics Department of Soban Singh Jeena University, was to review the development work done in the state over the past four years, assess the impact of public welfare schemes, and have a meaningful discussion on future priorities., Prof Bisht said.
Views were shared regarding the state government’s achievements and challenges. Speakers noted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is moving the state forward by establishing better coordination with the central government.
Speakers praised the government for achieving the Sustainable Development goals and earning more revenue through mining reforms. Implementing the Uniform Civil Code, preventing land fraud through strict land laws, anti-copying laws, the Rishikesh-Karnprayag-Tanakpur-Bageshwar railway line, strict anti-conversion laws, and declining unemployment were some of the main achievements during the past four years, they noted.
