Dr Sandeep Singhal, Managing Director of UJVN Limited, has received the national-level prestigious “Eminent Engineering Personality” Award by The Institution of Engineers (India).
The award was conferred on 20 December 2025 during the 40th Indian Engineering Congress held at Durgapur, West Bengal. Along with Dr Singhal, Lt Gen R.K. Sahni, Director General (EME), and Dr. Sanjay Kirloskar, Chairman and Managing Director of Kirloskar Brothers Limited, were also honoured.
Dr Singhal holds a B.E. degree in Civil Engineering, an MBA in Finance, and a Ph.D. in Power Management. He has nearly 38 years of extensive experience in the field of hydropower development. At present, he is also working as Director, Energy Cell, in the Energy Department of the Government of Uttarakhand.
Under his leadership, the 120 MW Vyasi Hydroelectric Project has been successfully commissioned. Work is currently in progress on major projects such as the 300 MW Lakhwar Multipurpose Project and the 660 MW Kishau Multipurpose Project.
In addition, he is actively involved in the development of new energy sources including pumped storage, battery storage, green hydrogen, hydrokinetic turbines, and geothermal energy.
Dr. Singhal has earlier received several other prestigious national-level awards, including the Water Digest World Water Award, CBIP Award, ET Inspiring Leaders Award, and the Aqua Foundation Dam Safety Award.
On being conferred with the national-level prestigious Eminent Engineering Personality Award, officers and employees of UJVN Limited expressed their joy and extended their heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Sandeep Singhal.
