Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind condemns atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh

Uttarakhand unit of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind on Saturday strongly condemned the atrocities being committed against the minority Hindus in Bangladesh which it said was a serious violation of human rights.

“Injustice and oppression against minorities are unacceptable in any part of the world. Such incidents, wherever they occur, are extremely sad and worrying. Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind will continue to raise its voice strongly against every such injustice,” said Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind state general secretary, Maulana Sharafat Ali Qasmi.

Qasmi was speaking at a meeting of the Uttarakhand state executive committee of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind which was held at Madrasa Dar-e-Arqam in Dehradun.

Qasmi said “injustice and oppression against minorities are unacceptable in any part of the world. Such incidents, wherever they occur, are extremely sad and worrying. Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind will continue to raise its voice strongly against every such injustice.”

Through the meeting, the central government was also urged to take serious note of the situation of minorities in Bangladesh and intervene at the diplomatic level to ensure the protection of the lives, property, and religious freedom of the vulnerable sections of society living there.

The meeting also resolved to oppose any kind of oppression based on religion and language. The speakers clarified that if discrimination or oppression occurs anywhere in the name of religion or language, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind will register a strong protest against it.

A resolution was also passed to protect women’s rights, and the government was urged to give the strictest possible punishment to anyone involved in crimes against women.

Detailed discussions were also held on further improving the standard of education in Uttarakhand. The speakers said that concrete efforts are needed to provide modern and quality education in madrassas so that students can excel in contemporary education along with religious education.

At the end of the meeting, it was resolved to continue the struggle for peace, brotherhood, and justice. Prayers were offered for peace and harmony in the country. The meeting was attended by office secretary Mufti Tazim, state vice-president Mufti Ikram, Dehradun district president Maulana Abdul Mannan, district treasurer Master Abdul Sattar, city president Mufti Ayaz, Maulana Abbas Qasmi, Maulana Rehan Ghani, district general secretary Qari Abid, Qari Akram, Mufti Raghib, Maulana Raghib, Mufti Wasil, Mufti Huzaifa, Hafiz Shahnazar, Maulana Dawood, Mufti Taufiq Ilahi, Mufti Rashid Qasmi, Mufti Naseem Ahmed Qasmi, Qari Ehsan, Qari Muntazir, Tausif Khan, Maulana Mohammad Abad, Maulana Mohammad Asad, Maulana Mohammad Haroon, Maulana Shakeel, Maulana Mahtab Qasmi, Maulana Manzar Qasmi, Mufti Burhan Qasmi, Qari Abdus Samad, and a large number of other Jamiat office bearers and workers.
