The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Uttarakhand has conducted a Manufacturing Excellence Learning Mission to the world class companies in Gurugram in Haryana.
CII industry delegation visited two companies that have excelled in the auto sector Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and Sandhar Engineering Pvt Ltd. The key objective of the mission was to share and learn the best practices in manufacturing operations of the visited companies that make them leaders in their respective areas of work and to enhance competitiveness.
Anirban Ghosh, DGM, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Gurugram Plant interacted with participants and also briefed about the Gurugram facility. Ghosh, while addressing the participants shared that such missions provide an opportunity to the participants to have first-hand exposure and insight on the technological strengths of the visited companies. During the visit delegates were taken to major shop floor managing its operations though world class processes. Shop floor best practices were shared and briefed for enhancing competitiveness.
Senior officials of Sandhar Engineering Pvt Ltd plant shared the vision of their company and appraised delegates about the various area specific programs undertaken in plant manufacturing processes and various manufacturing excellence techniques were showcased. Sukhvinder Dhull, Unit Head at Sandhar Engineering, led the delegation at the premises. He expressed that such activities share various innovative and successful practices implemented at the workplaces of these organizations, providing great learning opportunities to the mission members.
During the Mission ideas & thoughts were exchanged on how TQM, TPM, Supply Chain Management, Employee Involvement, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizens & Industry 4.0 can help organizations to grow and attain high profitability levels. The companies also shared their CSR and HR initiatives.
The mission provided a unique opportunity to the participating companies to get an insight and learn about the technological strengths of the member companies and to understand how to cultivate, shape and rejuvenate their company’s manufacturing capabilities, quality, safety and practices to enhance the productivity and also how products are controlled according to quality standards.
Eleven officials from 5 companies across the spectrum like Minda Corporation Limited (Spark Minda), Zydus Wellness Products Limited, Tech Auto Pvt Ltd, Patil Group & Bony Polymers Pvt Ltd were part of this delegation.
