A CII delegation led by Sanjay Agarwal, Chairman, CII Uttarakhand, on Friday called on Anand Bardhan, Uttarakhand Chief Secretary to introduce the new state team and apprise him of CII’s ongoing initiatives in the State.
The discussions centred on strengthening CII–State Government collaboration to enhance ease of doing business and accelerate industrial growth. Key issues discussed included: expediting piped natural gas expansion to industrial areas in Sitarganj, Udham Singh Nagar, and Selaqui, Dehradun; raising the Solar net metering cap to 5 MW for industrial consumers in line with other states; and rationalisation of power tariffs with subsidised industrial rates for Tourism/Hospitality industry, especially since tourism was accorded industry status in 2017.
CII also proposed constituting a joint task force on policy advocacy under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, comprising CII industry members and senior State officials. The Task Force would enable structured, regular dialogue on new and upcoming policies to foster industrial growth and create an industry-friendly framework.
