Senior IAS officer Anand Bhardhan of 1992 batch on Monday formally took over as new Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand, an official statement said.

Bardhan, who was serving as additional Chief Sercretary in the state government, took charge from Radha Raturi at the state secretariat this evening.

Raturi’s second extension as the Chief Secretary ended on March 31. Raturi was the first woman Chief Secretary in the state.

Later, Bardhan said his top priority would be to give push to the government’s policies for the development of the state at faster pace.
