England defeated Pakistan by two wickets (5 balls left) in T-20 World Cup Super-8 match at Kandy on Tuesday.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. With the help of Sahibzada Farhan (63), Pakistan scored 164 runs losing nine wickets. England’s bowlers Jofra Archer and Jamie Overton took two wickets each.
Chasing a target of 165 runs, English batters initially remained uncomfortable against Pakistani bowlers as England continued to lose wickets in regular intervals. At one point of time, England were 58/4. But skipper Harry Brook showed great resilience as he scored a magnificent century to guide England to two wickets victory.
