A high-level central team headed by Secretary, Union Ministry of Jal Shakti, V.L. Kantarao, on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the 300 MW Lakhwar Multipurpose hydel Project being constructed by UJVN Limited on the Yamuna River in Dehradun district of Uttarakhand.
During the inspection, the Secretary carried out a thorough review of various components and structures of the project and issued necessary directions.
On this occasion, he appreciated and praised the efforts made by Ajay Kumar Singh, Managing Director of UJVN Limited, for expediting the project works within a short period after assuming charge. He also expressed confidence that the project would be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Following the inspection, a review meeting was held with officials of the corporation and executing agencies to assess the project’s progress. The Secretary also instructed all concerned officials and engineers to prepare a time-bound action plan for effective monitoring of the project and to work accordingly.
Kantarao directed L&T Ltd to ensure timely requisition for all the necessary drawings required for the construction of the project, so that no hindrance arises in execution. He also instructed officials of the Central Water Commission to ensure that the relevant drawings should be provided within the stipulated timeframe.
Besides Singh, Director (Projects) Suresh Chandra Baluni, Executive Director Rajeev Agrawal, General Managers Sujeet Kumar Singh, Sunil Joshi, Sanjay Joshi, Mahkar Singh, along with other officials and staff of the corporation and executing agencies were present.
