Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan on Wednesday performed the bhoomi pujan for the Dehradun campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur at Suddhowala area.
Speaking on the occasion, Bardhan said the new campus would provide students in the region with better opportunities to pursue high-quality management education. He said Uttarakhand’s youth had no dearth of talent and that the availability of leading educational institutions would help them develop their capabilities and take advantage of new opportunities.
IIM Kashipur Director Prof. Neeraj Dwivedi was also present at the ceremony.
IIM Kashipur, which was established 15 years ago, will develop the Dehradun campus on five acres of land. To enable the campus to become operational at the earliest, a prefabricated facility will initially be developed with modern classrooms and offices.
The campus will subsequently be developed in phases in accordance with the academic and institutional requirements of IIM Kashipur.
