In two years, one more woman died in wall collapse in Doon (rpting with pic)

A wall in Ajabpurkhurd area in Dehradun collapsed killing a 50-year-old female teacher, police said on Wednesday.

The incident came two years after a similar scary incident in Dehradun where a 24-year-old woman Sushmita Tomar died after she was buried under a boundary wall of DAV PG College which collapsed in the month of October, 2023.

The latest incident occurred on Tuesday in Ajabpurkurd Park where Vijaylakshmi Singh was walking when the wall suddenly collapsed on her. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

The woman, a resident of New Friends Colony in Ajabpurkhurd area, was a teacher in a government school. No police case has been registered so far.

The DBS College Principal K R Jain had later resigned after the death of the woman in DAV PG College wall collapse. In this case, police has also registered a criminal case against the college authorities.
