Three cops injured by a speeding vehicle in Doon

Three policemen were injured seriously on Sunday after they were hit by a speeding vehicle at Araghar Chowk in Dehradun, police said.

The driver of the vehicle identified as Mohammad Umar alias Tahir (36), a resident of EC Road Dehradun, has been arrested.

According to police reports, Head Constable Suganpal, Constable Sachin, and Constable Kamla Prasad were checking vehicles at the Araghar T-junction when the vehicle which was signalled to stop, hit them in big speed seriously injuring all of them.

The three policemen were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, from where they were later taken to Synergy Hospital.

Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajai Singh visited the hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured policemen and urged doctors to provide them the best possible treatment.

On the SSP’s instructions, police registered a case against the driver and arrested him. The vehicle used in the incident has also been seized.
