Five members of a family were killed after a Thar vehicle in which they were traveling fell into Alaknanda river near Devprayag area in Uttarakhand on Saturday, police said.
All the persons, hailing from Faridabad, died on the spot. The bodies were later sent for postmortem.
The deceased have been identified as Sunil Gusai, Meenu, Nukku, Sujal and Aditya.
The accident apparently occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
