When the world was celebrating the international leopard day on May 3, a beast devoured a 4 year old child after snatching from her mother in Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, forest officials said.
The incident occurred at Mana kabhara village in Bageshwar on late Saturday evening when the woman along with her child Naitik Bora was going to nearby toilet when the leopard suddenly attacked the kid and took away to nearby jungles. A half eaten body of the child was later recovered.
The villagers have demanded that the leopard be caged and declared man-eater.
