Heavy rains may continue in Uttarakhand for next 2-3 days

A heavy spell of rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning is likely to occur over Uttarakhand in the next 2-3 days, IMD said on Sunday.

Dehradun and its surrounding areas including Mussoorie experienced rains 2-3 times on Sunday turning the weather pleasant.

After reeling under a long heat wave spell, Gujarat and Rajasthan would experience heavy to very heavy Rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and squally/gusty winds in the next four-five days bringing tremendous relief.

Rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning, Hailstorms, squally/gusty winds likely to continue over Northwest India during next 4-5 days.

Thunderstorm accompanied with Squally/Gusty winds with speed 70-100 kmph prevailed at some places over East Rajasthan, Central India, Odisha, Jharkhand; with speed 40-70 kmph prevailed at isolated places over Gujarat Region, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, East Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Tamil Nadu Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe, North Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana.

Hailstorm occurred at isolated places over Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh.

❖ A Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation lies over north Pakistan and adjoining Punjab and northwest Rajasthan in lower to upper tropospheric levels.
