Road rage case registered against Champion’s son

Former Uttarakhand BJP MLA Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion has remained in controversies for years. And now his son Divya Pratap Singh is also facing trouble after a case related to road rage was registered against him.

Yashovardhann has filed a case against Divya Pratap Singh and Rajesh Singh, a policeman posted in Haridwar, under sections 115(2)/324(4)/351(3) of the BNS.

In the complaint lodged at the Rajpur police station in Dehradun, Yashovardhan stated that on the night of November 14, while he was travelling from Dilaram Chowk to Sai Mandir on Rajpur Road, a Land Cruiser and a Bolero car tried to overtake him near Pacific Mall, but they were not allowed to do so due to lack of space on the road.

According to the complaint, the Land Cruiser and Bolero cars overtook his car near Mussoorie Diversion and stopped them. Two men in the cars abused and assaulted him, and also threatened to kill him, said Yashovardhan, who also stated that one of the men was wearing an Uttarakhand Police uniform.

The police stated that after registering the case, preliminary investigations identified the men in the cars as Divya Pratap Singh and Rajesh Singh, a constable posted in Haridwar. Singh has been suspended by the SSP Haridwar.

The Bolero vehicle used in the incident has also been seized by the police.

According to the police, since Divya Pratap Singh is out of town, he has been issued a notice to appear within three days to record his statement. Additionally, a report has been submitted to the Haridwar District Magistrate for the cancellation or suspension of his arms license.

Champion was a former MLA from Khanpur in Haridwar district and was suspended by BJP many times on different controversies.

Meanwhile, the BJP, while calling the incident involving the former MLA’s son unfortunate, clarified that the police would take action impartially.

State BJP media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan stated that under the BJP’s zero-tolerance government, no one is allowed to commit crimes. He said, that the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation, and everyone should be assured that swift, strict, and lawful action will be taken impartially.
