Russian President Vladimir Putin with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday. Putin’s visit to India has drawn global attention in view of the Ukraine war. In an interview to an Indian news outlet, Putin said Russia will take full control of Donbas region by fore unless Ukrainian forces withdraw from there completely, an idea rejected by Kyiv.
On his arrival to New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Putin to India. “Looking forward to our interactions. India-Russia friendship is a time tested one that has greatly benefitted our people”, Modi said.
The Prime Minister Modi also presented a copy of the Gita in Russian to President Putin. Modi stated that the teachings of Gita give inspiration to millions across the world. The Prime Minister posted on X: “Delighted to welcome my friend, President Putin to India. Looking forward to our interactions later this evening and tomorrow. India-Russia friendship is a time tested one that has greatly benefitted our people.”
