Celebrated author Ruskin Bond (91) is recovering from a leg problem at a private hospital in Dehradun, doctors said on Sunday.

Bond, a Padam Bhushan awardee, was hospitalized on Saturday after he was unable to walk properly.

Bond, who lives in Landour in Mussoorie, is undergoing a physiotherapy treatment under the medical supervision and would be discharged in 2-3 days, doctors said.

Bond has authored more than 500 short stories, essays, and novels which includes 69 books for children. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1992 for Our Trees Still Grow in Dehra. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan in 2014.
