With human-animal conflicts continuing in Uttarakhand, a woman was killed in a leopard attack in Dhari area in Nainital district in Uttarakhand on Sunday.

This is the third death in leopard attacks in Bhimtal area of Nainital district within one month.

The incident took place in Khutiakhal village where Ganga Devi (35) had gone to the nearby forest along with other women to collect dry woods and fodder for the cattle. All of a sudden a leopard attacked Devi and dragged her to nearby jungles. Later, her mutilated body was recovered.

After the incident, the locals have expressed concern and alleged that despite repeated incidents of leopard attacks in the area, no action has been taken by the forest department.

Local MLA Ram Singh Kaira said the forest department has already declared the leopard as man-eater.
