Dehradun records 38.8 degree C temp, hottest of season

The temperature in Dehradun continued to rise with mercury touching 38.8 degree C on Friday making it the hottest day of summer season.

Pantnagar was the hottest place in Uttarakhand with temperature rising to 39.9 degree C.

However, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (speed 40-50 Kmph) is likely to occur on Saturday at isolated places in Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Almora and Nainital districts of Uttarakhand, met department said.

The maximum temperature of 38.8 degree C in Dehradun which was 5 degree C more than the normal bringing in fresh wave of heat spell in the capital.

The minimum temperature also rose to 22 degree C in Dehradun.

For Dehradun, the met centre said the sky will be mainly clear to partly cloudy on Saturday. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 39°C and 22° in Dehradun, it said.
