Girl, boy from Churu Rajasthan drown in Ganga

Two youths, a girl and a boy from Churu Rajasthan, were swept away in the swollen Ganga river at Muni Ki Reti area near Rishikesh in Uttarakhand on Wednesday, police said.

The girl identified as Garvita Kant (23) who was brought out of the river by locals was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead. However, the boy Jitendra Jakhar (24) is yet to be traced.

SDRF personnel have launched efforts to find the boy.

Both Garvita and Jitendra have come to Muni Ki Reti along with two other friends on a pleasure trip.
