Another western disturbance is likely to bring fresh spell of rainfall and snowfall in isolated areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir from Feb 8 to Feb 12, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday.

Meanwhile, light rainfall coupled with snow occurred at the higher reaches of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and adjoining POK and the Northern Areas in Pakistan, the IMD said.

However, the weather in most of the plains including Dehradun remained clear even as some parts of the northern region reeled under cold conditions.

During the past few days, the weather particularly in the hill areas of north India has remained cold due to rainfall and snowfall in certain areas.
