After the exit of top-ranking players like Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic and Iga Swaetek, top seed Aryna Sabalenka was also shown the door in the continuing upset spree at Roland Garros on Wednesday.

After winning the first set 6-3, Sabalenka lost the remaining two sets 5-7,0-6 to Diana Shnaider (seeded 25) of Russia. In the last set, Sabalenka lost all her steam and miserably failed to counter the powerful serves and shots of Shnaider.

With the exit of Sabalenka, most of the top seeds in both men and women sections are now out of the French Open.  Only second seed Alexander Zverev of Germany is left in the French Open championship.
