At a time when Gujarat and nearby Rajasthan areas are reeling under the spell of warm weather conditions, a Western Disturbance (WD) is likely to bring fresh wet spell causing scattered rainfall and snowfall mainly in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next few days
Since Holi will be celebrated on March 14, rains and snow are likely to occur this day also. Met department said the higher reaches of Uttarakhand may experience snowfall for few days from March 14 onwards. Rain activity can be experienced in the plains of the hill state, said Rohit Thapliyal, a scientist in the met department.
Due to the Western Disturbance, wet weather fairly widespread to moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning likely to occur over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh during 12th March to 16th March.
