A lightning with a deafening sound struck somewhere near Dalanwala area in Dehradun around 1.15 am on Monday after the midnight.
However, there was no report of any damage in and around Dalanwala, police said. But the lightning remained a topic of discussion among the people in the area.
“It was very scary. I thought some blasts have occurred at a nearby area,” said Rekha kumari, who lives in Shivpuri area.
Chintu (28) said he immediately woke up to see whether any damage has occurred in his dairy. “In the middle of night, I went to my dairy. As there was no damage, I was immensely relieved,” said Chintu.
Nikhil Kumar, Corporator from Ward no 29 (Dalanwala) said he too could not verify where the lightning stuck. “It was very terrifying but we didn’t get any information about the place where the lightning stuck,” said Kumar.
