Relief materials distributed among floods-affected people in Dalanwala

Dalanwala Welfare Society (DWS) has distributed blankets and other relief materials to the affected people of the recent flash floods in Dehradun on Sunday evening.

“More than relief materials, we are trying our best to give some emotional support also to the disaster affected people,” said Dr Anil Jaggi, President, DWS.

During the relief outreach, Dr Jaggi shared a heartbreaking encounter with a woman whose husband Dhakkan Pandey died because he couldn’t bear the shock of losing everything in the floods on Chander Road. “This story reflects the deep emotional and physical toll this disaster has taken on the community,” said Dr Jaggi in an emotional-choked voice.

Madhu Marwah, Vice President, DWS, said the Team DWS played a modest yet meaningful role in facilitating this relief effort. With the financial support and compassion of over 50 generous members, the team successfully reached out to more than 40 affected families in Dalanwala, providing essential relief materials during this difficult time, said Marwah.

“This collective act of kindness reminds us that even small contributions can bring hope and smile to these people in despair,” noted R R Agarwal, Treasurer, DWS.

Suryakant Dhasmana, Senior Congress Leader and President, Devbhoomi Manav Sansthan Trust, contributed blankets to the families. Madhu Bhatt, Senior BJP leader also joined the program and appreciated DWS’s compassionate efforts for the flood-affected community.

A brief distribution ceremony was organized at Mohini Road Gurudwara, attended by dignitaries and DWS members including Rakesh Dhawan (Sara Services), Brig. K. G. Bhel (Founder President, DWS), Gambhir, Sunita Machkola & Rakesh Machkola, Mukesh Sharma, Jitendra Dandona, Shikha Anand Singh, Neha Sharma, Sidharth Sharma, Avinash Manchanda, Vijay Sharma, Arvind Datta, Dr. Semwal, Sangita Agarwal, Mridula Chandna,  Alka Kukreti, Anjali Gusain, Wadera, Anjali Thapa, Shilip Adhlakha , Manju Pal, Anand Singh,  Vikas Dewan, and many others who contributed selflessly to the cause.

DWS also expresses its gratitude to all members, supporters, and well-wishers who came together in solidarity to help the victims of the recent floods.
